| 1968 | The inlingua franchising network is founded. |
| 1968 | The inlingua School of Languages in Bern is opened. |
| 1972 | The school moves from its original address on Bärenplatz to its present location on Waisenhausplatz. |
| 1996 | Antonio and Véronique Salerno take over as owners of inlingua Bern. |
| 2001 | inlingua opens a branch in Thun. |
| 2002 | The inlingua School of Languages in Bern is accredited with the EduQua certificate from SQS (The Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems). This guarantees that as an institution devoted to continuing education, inlingua conforms to exacting specifications. |
| 2004 | Since its founding in 1968 the inlingua network expands to a total of more than 300 schools in 30 countries worldwide. |
| 2005 | inlingua Bern’s EduQua certificate is renewed. |
| 2006 | The inlingua School of Languages in Bern employs 80 people from over 30 countries, of whom approximately half are in full-time positions, and offers training in over 20 languages. |
| 2007 | inlingua Bern was selected as an official centre for the Italian examination CELI, offered by the University of Perugia. |
| 2008 | This year marks the 40th anniversary of inlingua. |
| 2008 | inlingua Bern and Thun have been recertified by eduQua as qualified language training centres. |
